Itch Magick's Oil Treatment is a signature blend of Essential Oils plus Iodine in a nourishing and natural Oil base.

It is great to cover large areas and perfect to penetrate through the thick hair of the mane and tail. It has just the right consistency to work its way down to the skin when massaged over the affected area and will instantly form a soothing barrier whilst the skin resets itself. It can stimulate hair growth and rapid healing whilst also offering some ongoing insect protection.

You should see some clear results within a fortnight and often sooner than this.

Itch Magick Oil Treatment is applied twice in the first 48 hours then a WEEKLY APPLICATION is generally all that is needed

Unless your horse has only a very small amount of Itch we would suggest the 500ml or 1 lt Bottle to get you started.

We have seen the best results from generous application in the first 2 treatments. You will use progressively less as you continue treatment. Be aware this is an OIL treatment so please use COMMON SENSE. In warmer weather if saturating your horse with the Oil then keep them covered and away from direct sun.

No preparation or washing is needed before or during the treatment, the oil will permeate dead skin, dirt and hair, just go for it…our product is formulated to be simple and highly effective.

SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE !!!

PATCH TEST FIRST. Especially if your horse is known to be 'sensitive'.

Apply liberally to affected area (you may wish to use gloves). Massage in to skin & really work through mane & tail area. If you have a light rug for your horse put it on, we do believe this helps the process. REAPPLY AFTER 48 HOURS (you will use a lot less treatment this time). We have found that a FOLLOW UP TREATMENT ONCE A WEEK is all that is generally necessary until the itch is under control.

Then apply as needed or if you notice your horse has started scratching again. It would be a good idea to give a bit of a splash during the spring/summer months to help prevent recurrence and help repel insects. Just a dribble down the mane & tail.

When the weather is really warm you need to be aware that this is an OIL and can burn your horse if left in the sun unprotected. USE COMMON SENSE. Apply in the evening and rug your horse if they are out in the heat of the day. We recommend the lotion or cream during summer months if saturation treatment is needed. Our hope is that in time all horses will have the itch controlled and fixed before the onslaught of the midges in LATE SPRING.

Some owners have washed their horses to clear the old skin flakes and dirt out of the coat as it regenerates, our experience has shown that this is not necessary, the old skin and dirt will disappear naturally over a few weeks. If you really want to wash the areas, it does no real harm, you will just need to reapply the Oil if treatment is still ongoing.

Each horse is different and the amount of Itch Magick that you use varies greatly depending on the degree of Itch. Be generous!

The more you put into this process the more you will get out of it.

For the face & other difficult areas we have discovered a great way to apply the Itch Magick Oil Treatment with a small bit of sponge. Our horse Willow just loves it as you can see...in her ears, over her face etc and we have noticed a real difference in the number of bugs bothering her too. Just Magick!
